(Newswire.net — October 1, 2013) Singapore, Singapore — Fellow Singapore American School (SAS) 2009 graduates were privileged to hear Priscilla Chan sing the National Anthem at their graduation. Now, ‘Cilla’ Chan was selected to be one of 48 contestants on The Voice (Season 5)!  She performed ‘Come and Get It’ by Selena Gomez and chose to be on Team Blake.

One of her many fans said, “She got the voice. She got brain, and she got the look.”  Huie-Yu Lin, on the website Fresh Patrol, offers an Asian-American point of view.  He listed seven reasons why you should follow Cilla Chan’s career, including: #1 Cilla has amazing vocal abilities; #3 Cilla’s voice transcends genres; #5 The rest of Cilla’s family is crazy talented as well.

Ms. Chan attended SAS since fifth grade. She was very actively involved in the Student Council, Honor Choir, SAS Singers and played lead roles in the memorable high school musicals, “Children of Eden”, “Cinderella”, and “Seussical”.

The inaugural recipient of Student of the Year award, she performed a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem and gave a brilliant speech as the speaker during her graduation ceremony.

Ms. Chan went on to Stanford University graduating with a degree in Human Biology this past June. Putting her career on hold with Stanford Consulting, she hopes that The Voice will help to launch her performing career in the United States.
