It was a frustrating evening of disappointment that didn’t seem to end. As each of the seven people we saw walk the red carpet came and went, it became abundantly clear that interviews weren’t on the menu.”
“Upon arrival at ‘Slate,’ where the event was being held.” this reporter for the Dudley Media Group, Becca Rose, and her photographer, “noticed a red carpet set up outside of the venue. It was clear that the evening was going to continue to be a cold one. Media check in was the only part of the event that was indoors and became the first of the bad omens for the evening. No one was at the check-in booth and no one seemed to know who to talk to or where to go. As we waited for someone to figure out what they were doing we browsed through the confirmed celebrity/athlete guest list.”

Becca explains, “As the night progressed and it became closer to 9:45pm when the fashion show, that only a select few reporters were allowed to attend, was scheduled to begin the roar among the press standing and freezing outside began to increase to a resounding growl. There was an unspoken, and sometimes vocal, understanding among us reporters…we were pissed off at the lack of celebrity appearances, interviews and organization.”
