New Jersey artist and art dealer Blaine Tucker recently announced his plans to open a folk art gallery in Lambertville, New Jersey. The gallery will contain art from around the United States, but Tucker says that the majority of the collections will come from local artists.

“Lambertville is a hotbed for great art,” says Blaine Tucker. “I’ve been selling art in Lambertville and New Hope for many years, and the large majority of what I sell comes from local artists.”

According to Blaine Tucker, the plan for the new gallery has been in development for several months.

“Of course, I’ve always wanted to run my own gallery,” says Tucker, “But it was just a few months ago that I realized that my dream could become a reality. Now we’re on the verge of actually opening our doors to the public.”

Tucker eventually chose Lambertville for the location of the new gallery, but initially he considered several other options, including Princeton, and New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Blaine Tucker commented: “Princeton was a serious consideration, there is a great art scene there. Eventually I decided that I should stay in the New Hope – Lambertville area, because that’s where I have the most expereince. When it came down to it, I just happened to find the perfect storefront in Lambertville, so that’s where the gallery will be.”

The Lambertville gallery is expected to see plenty of visitors from both New Hope and Lambertville.

“New Hope is just right across the river,” says Tucker, “So plenty of people checking out the shops in New Hope walk across the bridge to see what we have over here. There is a great dynamic between the two towns.”

The gallery’s grand opening is planned for this spring, details will be available on Blaine Tucker’s website.
