(Newswire.net — March 27, 2014) Los Angeles, CA — I took a trip to Cairo a few years ago and every morning at about 4 am I would be awakened by the sound of jackhammering outside my hotel window.  It is not one of the better memories of my vacation.  How many times have you heard a jackhammer pounding away and wished there was another way?  Imagine if you are the one holding on to the other end of that jackhammer.  You won’t sleep through that, for sure!

I recently learned about a product called Dexpan that is pretty amazing.  Dennis Wager founded Dexpan Canada in 2000 after attending a conference while on the Board of Directors for the Demolition Association and seeing Dexpan demonstrated first hand.  He saw a way to revolutionize his own deconstruction business offering this virtually silent as well as environmentally friendly product.   And it doesn’t require any permits!

Dexpan breaks down rock into usable chunks which can be used for landscaping or even sold, saving money on disposal fees and landscaping fees.

When I asked Dennis about this he had some great things to say, “When you have rock (that is being excavated) the benefits are huge. It totally transforms waste into decorative landscape rock for use in retaining walls or for borders around your garden bed etc.”

“Landscaping companies can use it for the same but additionally they can sell the rock back to the owner or sell it to another job. In our area most of the rock we encounter is Granite and is very expensive to buy.  So the absolute biggest advantage is to take what would otherwise be waste and transform it into a valuable product.”

“This is one of my personal favorite things in life; turning what was waste into money. When I was on the Board of Directors for the Demolition Association this was a big topic for us as we collectively dealt with millions of tons of waste annually and this is without a doubt every demolition contractors best way to stop paying and put more money in the bank. Plus it’s good for the environment – which I’m also all about.”

Blasting rock leaves it generally unusable and requires it to be hauled off the site.  With Dexpan, you may still wish to remove the rock from the site but here it can be sold at a profit offsetting the cost of your project.  You may begin to see exciting new possibilities with the prospect of having all that valuable rock at your fingertips.

Dexpan is a non-explosive expanding agent which when mixed with water hardens creating a pressure that forces the rock to break apart in a 24 hour period.   Dexpan Canada provides you with technical support such as instructing you how to use the product and providing you with a drill pattern.  They’ll even send you out a free sample.
