With many positive reviews this may be the case. Rotten Tomatoes, a review aggregator gave the film a score of 79% based on reviews from 24 movie critics with an average score 6.1/10.
The site’s consensus states: “Thanks to Marc Webb’s confident directing and talented cast, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 entertains in spite of its crowded canvas and occasionally stilted
narrative.”
There has been talk that to redo the Spider Man films after the trilogy of films starring Tobey Maguire was strange, the first in this new series, Amazing Spider-Man, was thoroughly entertaining, and this second instalment has similarly impressed.
Some reviews have said that the opening chase sequence in the film are worth the price of admission for the spectacle of Spider Man zipping through New York and that each action sequence astounds the audience.
Lead actor Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone who were the heart of the first film are well cast and charming and have lots of chemistry (they are a real life couple) which shines through on the big screen.
Jamie Foxx plays one of the villains called Electro and he brings just enough menace and fear to the character, while at the same time keeping the balance of someone who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Comedy works in this film where Spider Man taking a light hearted approach to cleaning up New York’s criminal underworld.
Being a long movie at 2 hours and 32 minutes the film’s story is great with no obvious plot holes.
Overall, most critics agree that this film is both enjoyable to watch and has some great action sequences. Like any movie fans will either hate it or love it.
The best person to gauge this is yourself and not someone else’s point of view.
So watch it if you like action, comedy and romance on the big screen.
