This film forms the first part of the planned third trilogy of Star Wars films, following chronologically in the series 35 years after 1983’s Return of the Jedi.

This film will be made to be similar to the original Star Wars trilogy as it will be shot by cinematographer Daniel Mindel using Kodak 5219 35 mm film and the emphasis will be the use of real locations and scale models as opposed to the use of computer generated images.

All of the previous Star Wars films have been box office successes and Disney will be hoping Episdoe VII will be the start of another successful trilogy of movies for fans both young and old.
