(Newswire.net — August 25, 2014) Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA — British MI5 and MI6 Intelligence Agencies believe that they have now identified the person responsible for the murder of American journalist, James Foley. According to The Sunday Times newspaper has reported that the suspect is believed to be British hip-hop artist, Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary.

Since the video was posted last week by ISIS Islamic State extremists showing a jihadist with a British accent murdering James Foley, British Intelligence Agencies have been working together to find the man responsible.

Twenty three year old Bary is from Maida Vale in London’s west and is a well-known rapper and hip-hop artist. It was reported that he had posted an image of himself via Twitter holding a severed head earlier this month.

Peter Westmacott, British Ambassador to the United States stated, “We are putting a great deal into the search.” Using linguistics experts and voice recognition technology, officials believe the jihadists voice on the video has a distinctly British accent, is younger than 30 years of age, appears to have been educated in Britain from a young age and is from London or southern England.

UK Foreign Secretary, Phillip Hammond confirmed that the British government was investing “significant resources” to help deal with what ISIS are doing in the Middle East. The British Government is experiencing increasing pressure as information comes to light about the extent of involvement by British citizens in the ISIS militant group. It is thought that up to 500 British citizens have travelled to Iraq or Syria in the past few years to fight.

In speaking out against the killing of James Foley and other atrocities British citizens are carrying out in the Middle East, Mr Hammond stated that it was an “utter betrayal of our country.” He went on to comment, “It is horrifying to think that the perpetrator of this heinous act could have been brought up in Britain.”

In the video showing the beheading of James Foley, another American journalist, Steve Sotloff, was forced to kneel in front of the camera. The militant then warned that the fate of Sotloff is dependent on what U.S. President Barak Obama chooses to do next in Iraq. Obama’s response to the video was to vow that the U.S would strike back against ISIS relentlessly.

In a show of support and love for James Foley, hundreds of family and friends packed his local home church in New Hampshire for a memorial service. His family have had to deal with a great amount of stress for their son for the past two years.

Foley was working as a freelance journalist for online news site, GlobalPost, when he went missing in Syria in November 2012 when it was reported he was forced into a vehicle at gunpoint. His family had heard nothing from him since then. Foleys family were able to receive a letter written by their son, via another journalist held with James who had recently been freed. In the letter, James talked of his favorite family memories as well as sharing of his time spent in captivity.
