Scott Tucker, who has already planned and executed two benefits this year, embarks on his third charity event of 2014. The latest undertaking, which begins on October 4, will benefit victims of domestic abuse.

Tucker will work with several local businesses in order to provide food, games, and more for a family-friendly carnival; all money raised will go to Helping Hands Women’s Shelter. The shelter provides a safe place for victims of domestic abuse and their children.

“I’ve always been strongly connected to domestic abuse,” says Tucker. “Growing up, I saw the evils of domestic abuse at my church, and with members of my extended family. I know how important it is to have a way out of a bad situation. If I can help raise awareness and enough cash to get Helping Hands through the new year, I’ll be happy with my charity work for this year.”

Tucker has been involved with community fundraising for more than a decade. This year alone he has ran in Relay For Life, a cancer awareness marathon, and helped raise money for new equipment for Clinton Avenue Park.

The opening night dinner for Tucker’s benefit for domestic abuse victims will be held on Sunday, October 4th at 7pm and be open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee seating and meal choice. The following weekend will be the Helping Hands Carnival, a family friendly event held at Clinton Avenue Park. All proceeds from food, games, raffles, and entertainment will go to Helping Hands Women’s Shelter.
