(Newswire.net — November 26, 2014)  — Media in China, Russia and the Middle East mainly simplify the situation in US reporting protests in Ferguson started because white police officer killed an unarmed black teenager, and the riots escalates when the grand jury dismissed any charges against the cop.

The focus of the world’s media, is not on the details of what really happened. In fact, every country that has been criticized by US government of civil rights violations is using Ferguson case to ‘fire back’ the same accusations, undermined the US’s credibility to criticize other countries on human rights.

Cars in flames, tear gas, police brutality, armored vehicles and police tanks, and the enveloping sense of chaos featured extensively in coverage by international state media. Kremlin-backed international news channel Russia Today, is using dramatic headlines in its reports of what is going on in Ferguson. RT also quoted UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein who condemned America’s poor record on race relations.

Referring to Ukraine conflict media spin in US, Russian commentators and state media are sending a message that US needs to clean up its own back yard instead of meddling in others’ affairs.

“Racial and ethnic tensions continue to rise in US society. It’s about time the US authorities paid attention to this rather than focusing on lecturing the rest of the world on human rights,” Russia’s human rights ombudsman Konstantin Dolgov said in a Tweet.

Meanwhile, China’s foreign ministry also took the chance to say a ‘thing or two’ on civil rights, calling on Americans to ‘show a little humility’, the Guardian reported.

“I would like to say that there’s no such thing as perfection when it comes to human rights regardless of whatever country you’re in,” Hua said.

“We have to improve the record of human rights and promote the cause of human rights. We can learn from each other in this area,” said the China’s foreign ministry representative Hua Chunying.

Media in Egypt compare events in Ferguson with clashes in Cairo. Reportedly, Egypt’s police force has itself previously issued tips to American police about how to deal with the protesters in Ferguson.

“I ask the American police not to use excessive force in dealing with peaceful demonstrators,” said General Hany Abdel Latif, the police Spokesman.

Egyptian police killed around 2000 protesters in various clashes with the police, since 2011.

Middle East residence, however, offered the tips to the protesters, expressing their solidarity with the people of Ferguson.
