(Newswire.net — January 19, 2015)  — Red Cedar Services has revealed plans to begin a fundraiser this spring in their hometown of South Bend, Indiana. The campaign, which is called “Walk For A Cure,” is designed to fund medical researchers and attempt to find a cure for cancer. Residents within the South Bend community are planning to join the upcoming campaign, and are publicly speaking out about the good deed.

“The fact that Red Cedar Services is sacrificing their time, energy, and money to raise awareness for this disease really means a lot to me,” said Lauren Perkins, local resident. “I’ve witnessed people close to me battle this awful illness, and I believe that medical researchers need all of the help that they can get to stop it.”

Registration for the event is $30, and will take place after school hours in the lobby of Penn Valley High School. Once registered, attendees will be issued a pink bracelet and an Red Cedar Services “Walk For A Cure” t-shirt. Although the final date has not been announced, Red Cedar Services is expecting an outcome of more than 400 people.

“We anticipate to announce a date for the walk within the next week or so,” said Steve Markward, event coordinator for Red Cedar Services. “Once all of the intricate details are finalized, we will inform the public on our company website. Sponsoring a fundraiser of this magnitude is a first for us; we’re very excited and fortunate that we can help make a difference in the world.”

The walk will take place at the high school’s track and football field, and will last for four hours. Registration begins next month.
