(Newswire.net — February 20, 2015) Glasgow, Lanarkshire — Trade Radiators is pleased to announce this week that their YouTube channel has just passed the 500 mark for subscribers. It is a great achievement for the independent company as their range of videos to do with all things radiators is placed within a very precise niche, and one which there isn’t a high level of engaging content to attract viewers.

Nic Auckland, co-founder of the business, noted that this was a big deal considering the industry they work in.

‘It might sound quite silly to say that everyone has radiators at home, but that equates to a lot of people who might and probably will run in to problems at some point with their heating systems.’

Looking at what was already out there in terms of video content, Nic quickly realised that what was on offer didn’t reflect the standard video content on the platform now reaches.

‘Go on YouTube any day of the week and you’ll see videos with custom art, informative descriptions and nicely edited content. This was something that was missing from most DIY videos, especially when it came to radiators.’

Video views for the channel have reached over 370,000 since its launch in October 2011. Part of the channel’s success is also thanks to the main in front of the camera, Jimmy the Plumber.

‘Jimmy has his own successful YouTube channel and is a perfect fit for the type of content we wanted to make. He makes what can be a mundane thing in to something exciting and his exuberance in our videos is easy to see.’

Nic hopes that as the channel creates more videos, they’ll be able to get more people interested in what radiators can do for anyone or any space.

‘Radiators at first glance don’t sound quite exciting, but I’m hoping that with our video content anyone will inform people in an exciting manner. Fixing these small problems at home might be completely foreign to some people. If our videos can teach someone to learn an essential DIY skill and have fun doing that, then we’ve achieved our goal.’

Trade Radiators are hoping that the YouTube becomes a main avenue for engagement with those who’ve used the site and those interested in the products used in the videos.

‘Try before you buy is an adage that doesn’t apply so much in our business, but these videos which show our products should go a long way to highlight the benefits of our products to customers’
