(Newswire.net — March 6, 2015)  — Los Angeles, Ca. – Actor Harrison Ford crash-landed his WWII single engine two-seater and recieved only minor injures, CNN reported. Reportedly, the 72-year-old actor suffered injuries to his head as a result of the crash, though he survived and is now being treated at a hospital. Officials say he is in a stable condition.

NBC News reported Ford suffered cuts to the head and possible fractures. Other reports suggested he had gashes on his head and was bleeding.

It is still unclear if Ford was attempting to land at the time, but the network added that his plane reportedly hit a tree on the way down. Various aviators ‘applauded’ Ford and commented that he demonstrated excellent knowledge of piloting because he managed to maneuver through the trees and land the airplane on the narrow golf course runway in the middle of a highly populated area.

It has been reporting that Ford is an experienced pilot who has been flying since the 1960s, however, this isn’t the first time the famed ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ actor has crashed, either. Reportedly, in a 2008 interview with National Geographic, he described an incident that took place as he was flying a helicopter.

“Well, there was a mechanical failure while we were practicing power recovery autorotation. It was more or less a hard landing,” he said at the time. “Luckily, I was with another aviation professional and neither of us was hurt—and both of us are still flying.”

Reportedly, Ford was involved in another crash as well in back in 2000. This time in a six-passenger aircraft with only two members – Ford and other person. The plane was damaged, but no injuries were reported.

The famous actor, however, won’t be flying anytime soon until he recovers from the crash.

The LA Fire Department confirmed to CNN that Ford was the only individual in the two-seater single-engine plane, and no other injuries have been reported. Actually, that was the reason he suffered only moderate injures because his WWII PT-22 aircraft is a two-seater where the pilot seat is behind the ‘gunner’.

Ford’s son Ben tweeted that his father was “battered, but ok.”

Other comments on the situation are mostly notes or encouragement from fans, however there are the funny ones as well. One joker commented to the news, that Ford is “excellent golfer as he managed to stay on the ‘green’.”

While aviators around the world commended Ford’s excellent crash-landing on a golf course, residents from the houses near by said this is not the first time that a small airplane has crash-landed on this golf course because of airport located nearby.
