88 Year Old’s Fate Hangs in the Balance with Bedford Estates

(Newswire.net — May 26, 2015) Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA — The latest developments in this heart rending story is that Bedford Estates has turned down a recent petition to stop the eviction of Ms. Devereux.  The Cafferata siblings are disappointed that the company did not make an attempt to address important concerns raised in the petition such as why they placed owner of the lease, Sylvia Cafferata, on a death watch at 87 years-old, sending threatening notices only six weeks after Mrs. Cafferata’s death and issuing threatening eviction notice on March 11th when the rent and portage were already paid until the 24th.

Since Bedford Estates continue to go over old issues instead of considering the options presented to them, the Cafferata siblings have resolved that the only options acceptable to the family moving forward is to successor the lease, enter mediation or for the company to institute proceedings.  All this was outlined in a follow up letter to Bedford Estates. However, while the company considers these options, plans are afoot to implement a number of plans for the Stop The Duke.Com campaign designed to garner exposure and support for Ms. Devereux’s plight.   Some of the plans already instituted are:

  • Placement of a full page advertisement in Diva Magazine in June
  • Procurement of 200,000 digital advertising impressions for the Diva Website
  • Finalising terms of agreement for a solicitor to represent Ms Devereux

Francis’ story is also set to get wider coverage following enquiries from Independent Television News (ITN) to feature the story. However, amidst the chaos Ms. Devereux’s health is suffering and it is hoped that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible.
