(Newswire.net — July 16, 2015) — US lawmakers are probing the health care provider, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, after anti-abortion activists posted a video of PP’s director talking of selling fetal organs for profit, USA Today reported.

In a video released Wednesday, a couple, disguised as baby parts buyers, secretly recorded one of Planned Parenthood’s top doctors openly talking about how the clinics sell the body parts of aborted babies in an illegal black market.

While eating lunch, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director for Medical Services, was describing in details how doctors are performing abortions in a way that makes baby body parts and organs suitable for sale.

“Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many intact livers as possible,” Dr. Nucatola is seen telling the actors while eating, as if she was describing the parts of a used car.

“People just want… some people want lower extremities, too. I mean that’s easy. I don’t know what they’re doing with it, I guess they want muscle,” she explained between bites.

“We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part,” Dr. Nucatola adds. “I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact,” she described.

Partial-birth abortion is a federal felony, punishable by up to two years in prison or a $250,000 fine. The commercial trafficking of an aborted baby parts is also illegal and is punishable up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S Code 289g-2).

Dr. Nucatola apparently recognized the legal issues involved, she said that while publicly it is “too touchy” for Planned Parenthood’s Litigation and Law Department. “But I will tell you that behind closed doors, these conversations are happening with the affiliates,” Dr. Nucatola said.

According to authors, the video is a result of the three years long research by the Center for Medical Progress, which hired actors to impose as couple interested in buying fetal parts. The Center released an almost 3 hours of raw material so they avoid accusations of unfairly editing the video.

Still, the Center was accused for being bias because David Daleiden, a man who’s been connected to the controversial James O’Keefe, known for publishing misleadingly editing videos, led it.

Planned Parenthood also said that Center for Medical Progress misrepresents the organization’s participation in a medical donation program.
