(Newswire.net — July 30, 2015) San Clemente, CA –Toolander is a tool and die maker noted for its quality metal stamping and other products and processes. Now, the company introduces an in-house EDM wire machine technology to guarantee the maximum amount of flexibility in intricate die making.

“EDM stands for electrical discharge machining. It is also called spark machining and wire burning,” says Chris Kutzmarski, president. “This process allows us to use electric voltage to remove material from a workpiece by placing it between two electrodes and using a liquid to pass voltage through the substance. This method is being used more frequently to give us the precision we need to make detailed cuts and create intricate dies.”

EDM wire cutting utilizes a metallic wire to cut a pre-determined contour in a workpiece based on input from a computer. This technology is often used in extrusion dies and blanking punches. Because the wire can be angled or inclined, tapered pieces with various profiles can also be constructed. Water acts as a coolant and flushes away debris. This process allows the company to create unique and detailed dies and workpieces to meet any customer demands.

Toolander has been known for nearly 40 years for quality die stamping as seen at http://www.toolander.com/about.html. For more information on the company’s products and services, see the website.
