(Newswire.net — October 6, 2015) Irvine, CA — Financial information site MoneyNing.com founder David Ning helps give people realistic ways to save money without giving up the necessities of modern life.

While “economic indicators” show that the U.S. economy is stabilizing, and continues in its gradual recovery, there are still far too many people struggling financially. For working people around the country who are underemployed—happy to have a job, but trying to get by on less than a living wage—the positive signals are meaningless and making sacrifices has worn thin. MoneyNing.com founder David Ning, has a few suggestions for ways to cut costs and save a little money for the holidays, without giving up any more.

“I hear from people all the time who tell me they’ve already tightened their proverbial belts and cut back a lot,” says Ning. “The typical advice that you can save 50 bucks a week if you just give up your daily coffee-shop lattes is a joke for these folks—they never spent money like that in the first place. We make a point of finding ways for people to save money in ways that are realistic, and that don’t require a Spartan existence.”

Ning points out that internet service has become a necessity for many families, but can be one of the more significant household expenses, making it one of the best places to look for savings. All too often, people sign up with a service and sign a contract to get a better rate, but then never think about it again. “As soon as that obligation is fulfilled, it’s time to shop for a better deal.”

Also according to Ning, since you last signed up for internet or cable service, it’s likely that your provider has expanded service and has come up with a better offer to entice new customers and keep the existing ones. Verizon, for example, always has such deals, and users are often surprised to find that they can get a lower rate than they had previously been paying. It’s a competitive market and it’s up to the consumer to use that to their advantage.

“Bundled services” are the media version of bulk shopping, and subscribing for cable, internet, and phone service from the same carrier is another way our readers are saving on their monthly bills, because they can get a package rate that’s far lower than the combined total of two or three of the services purchased separately. MoneyNing.com regularly posts on topics in the categories of frugal living, investing and money management, all with an eye to helping readers save money and live better.
