(Newswire.net — November 5, 2015) Fall River, MA — Last year, as part of an initiative with the Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce, Apollo Safety, Inc. pledged to interview at least two veterans for a job or internship. In recognition of the recent Small Business Administration (SBA)’s Veterans Small Business Week (November. 2-6) and Veteran’s Day holiday, Apollo Safety, a veteran-owned, Fall River, Mass.-based company specializing in safety products and services, is renewing its pledge to interview at least two veterans for positions by the end of 2015.

“No man left behind. That’s a saying the Marines claim, but it’s really true of all branches of the service and it’s certainly how I feel as an Army veteran,” John Carvalho, president of Apollo Safety, Inc. “If we can help a fellow veteran reacclimate to civilian life by getting a foot in the door to a new job or career, then an interview is the very least we can do.”

Apollo Safety sells and installs a wide variety of portable and stationary gas detection systems, including name brands like Honeywell, Industrial Scientific, RAE Systems, RKI, and GMI. In addition, Apollo Safety also provides training and 24/7 service. All Apollo Safety technicians are factory-trained and certified. In addition, Apollo offers its own training program, with five levels of certification.

“Today’s military have training with equipment similar to gas detection systems. With the training we provide for all Apollo Safety technicians, the right person could really take this opportunity and run with it,” added Carvalho. “We currently have three veterans on staff, and me, and we are looking to add more.”

Apollo Safety is accepting resumes from veterans for full-time positions and for its military internship program. The military internship opportunity lasts 90 days, with salary based on skill level and experience. After 90 days, program graduates will receive Apollo Safety’s certification and potential employment opportunities with the company will be considered.

To apply for a position or for the military internship program, interested parties should send a resume and cover letter to John V. Carvalho III, Apollo Safety, Inc., 57 Walnut Street, Fall River, MA  02780. Resumes and cover letters can also be e-mailed to John@apollosafety.com.
