(Newswire.net — January 5, 2016) — Mark Zuckerberg revealed his plans to build a robot assistant in a Facebook post. “My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work. Imagine him as Jarvis in Iron Man”, the American billionaire has written.

He explained that his personal artificially intelligent butler could look like the hero from Marvel’s comic books and movies. “I’m going to start by exploring what technology is already out there”, he wrote.

Zuckerberg’s robot will be able to understand his voice so that he can control everything in his home, such as music, lights, temperature and so on.

The founder of Facebook plans to teach his personal assistant to open the door to his friends, so he can study their faces when they ring the doorbell.

The robot will assist its creator to run Facebook, too. “On the work side, it’ll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively,” he said.

Zuckerberg is a brand new father of an eight-week-old daughter. His wife Priscilla gave birth December 2, 2015. The robot will, of course, help the new parents with their baby.

“I’ll teach it how to know if there’s anything going on in Max’s room when I’m not with her,” Zuckerberg said and added: “Some people are fearful and say that AI is a huge risk. But for me, it seems much less likely to have disasters due to widespread disease, violence…”.

“It should be a fun intellectual challenge for me to realize this. I hope to be able, during the year, to share with you the progress of the project,” wrote Zuckerberg in the Facebook post.

Some of the challenges set by Mark in previous years were: reading two books a month, learning Mandarin and meeting a new person each day, and all these were fulfilled. So, now – we can sit back and wait for the robot!
