2. Groom your dog.
Your dog may not need an extensive haircut, but they will need a visit to the groomers. Their bodies automatically grow a thick coat during the winter so that they can stay warm whenever they go outside, but because of how warm we keep our homes they tend to shed more. Regular brushing and cleaning will help keep your home fur-free. If your dog is from a shorthair breed, you can always buy them a sweater or coat to help keep them warm every time they go outside.
3. Keep them warm when it comes to bedtime.
Your dog wants a warm place to sleep just as much as you do. Try to keep their bed away from doors and drafty areas of your home. Also, the use of a warm blanket or pillow will help keep them warm instead of them having to sleep on the cold floor.
