(Newswire.net — March 13, 2016) Cambroon, Qld — When Ray and Lynn Clarke first retired and moved to the city of Winston-Salem, they didn’t want to rest. Instead they chose to be an active part of their community by becoming mentors within the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, making them the first retired couples to become mentors in Winston-Salem. Before too long, they were matched up with a third grader named Tyshaun Wilson. After six months, the Clarkes and Tyshaun have a loving bond and connection, with visits twice a week.

According to Journalnow.com, the Clarke’s are both were doctors, living in Akron, Ohio. Upon their retirement in 2014, they moved to Winston-Salem. Ray Clarke has said that when he was a doctor, he often found himself mentoring medical students. It was through this experience that Clarke knew that he wanted to continue mentoring, but change his focus to children, knowing that many young people could benefit from having a mentor in their lives.

A mentorship can benefit anyone from children to retirees. Everyone’s life journeys become difficult at different moments, and often need guidance to help get them through it.

“The results people get from having a coach are well documented and are remarkable. In the busy world we live in today we understand that if we have someone outside of ourselves they can give us an unbiased perspective on our direction,” states Janie Walker, the face of Grandma’s Rules, a company dedicated to providing you a life coach and mentor, allowing you to focus on your life journey.

“Probably the most obvious difference is that a mentor is an advisor using the wisdom they have gleaned over years. A coach doesn’t need to have had experience in the particular challenge/project/goal on which the coachee wants focus, clarity and results. A coach is more a teacher,” says Walker.

Having a mentor at any point in your life is important to helping you become the best you can be. A mentor is there to provide you with life advice and to guide you through the rough areas of your life journey. Walker’s company, www.grandmasrules.com, is dedicated to making sure that you have all the help that you need to move forward through life, living the best life you can. “As your potential coach my promise to you is, that at any stage, either initially or after a couple of sessions, if I can see that I am not the person to take you forward I will refer you to someone I know who would be best suited to your goals and needs,” claims Walker.

One can always benefit from a mentorship, Janie Walker’s company makes it easy to have a mentor at any point in your life.
