E&J Appliance Sponsors Challenger Baseball Team

The sponsorship started when a friend of the company’s VP and Operations Manager, Alan Johnson approached him about his aunt wanting a sponsor for a special needs baseball team. “We jumped on the idea right away and have been at it for seven years now and it has been great,” says Alan. “I love going and watching the kids have a great time, it really is amazing how much joy these kids get out of getting out and playing a little baseball.”

E&J is a family-owned and operated major appliance repair service business founded by Ernest “Ernie” Johnson in 1892. Ernie started his career with a small hardware store in Coolidge, AZ. He then worked for two firms and later worked at General Electric for 7 years.

Ernie, just like many entrepreneurs, decided to launch his own business right from his own garage, which eventually expanded into a full-pledged appliance service company with six service vehicles and a full time staff focused on customer care. He also earned his Master Technician certification through the Certified Service Center.  Alan, Ernie’s son, later joined him in the family business in 1999.
