(Newswire.net — June 8, 2016) Montgomery, Alabama — Thomas G. Mancuso believes in helping people.  It is one of the reasons he became an attorney in 1968.  So, it was fitting that he chose to support his alma mater, the University of Alabama, in establishing a fund to support the Bounds Library at the UA School of Law.  In 2007, Thomas donated a starter fund of $50,000 to support the creation of a special library collection for tax and corporate law resources.  Entering the 10th year since its creation, he had time to reflect on what the collection means for tomorrow’s attorneys.  “With the funding, the law library was able to expand its collection in bound volumes, periodicals, and microforms,” he says.  “Tax and corporate law students can access these materials, helping them to prepare for the challenges they will face in their careers.”  To learn more about the collection at the time of its creation, visit http://uanews.ua.edu/2007/05/ua-law-library-collection-named-in-honor-of-law-school-alumnus-thomas-g-mancuso/.

Tommy Mancuso is no stranger to furthering the educational goals of institutions. His published articles on corporate and tax law have been used by the Alabama Bar Institute for continuing education credits other attorneys in the state need to maintain licensure.  With over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles to his credit, students and fellow attorneys have turned to his expertise time and again. “Supporting the UA law library with funding in 2007 is only one of many steps I’ve taken to give assistance to legal scholars and law students,” says Thomas. “If my contributions can help prepare the lawyers of the future, I will be honored to have been a small part of their education.”

Thomas and his private practice were recognized by U.S. News and World Report in their Best Lawyers rankings. His firm was ranked as the best in the Montgomery County region of Alabama in both of his specialties, tax law and corporate law.  His exhaustive work in this field has made him a mentor and a guiding light for others, and his generosity in establishing the library fund has cemented his place in the hearts and minds of his peers.  For more information about Tommy and his extensive career as a business-oriented attorney, visit https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasgmancuso.
