(Newswire.net — August 31, 2016) — Well known on the North American comedy circuit, Canadian-born comedian Adam Richmond has harnessed his skills to bring laughter into the lives of Marines, both at home and abroad.

“Laughter truly is the best medicine and for our brave men and women who defend our way of life all across the globe, they could use a good dose of that,” said Richmond.

With his edgy comedic style, Adam Richmond has performed on stages throughout the continent, including on Canada’s Yuk Yuk’s tour, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and Last Call with Carson Daly.

In 2006, Richmond wrote, produced and starred in “The Adam Richmond Show” and for six years he ran the show at the world famous Hollywood improv known as “Richmond’s House of Comedy” or RHOC.

Today, he continues to grace the stage at the Comedy Store, The Icehouse and the Improv Comedy Clubs.

As his career has progressed, Richmond found himself taking comedy out of the theatre and following in the footstep of some of comedy’s finest, such as Bob Hope, Robin Williams and Sam Kinison, by performing regularly for the U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California and overseas in Japan, Korea and Guam.

Richmond was inspired by his time with the troops and instead of waiting on Hollywood to direct his next move, he launched into his own project, “Comedy from the Corps”, a live comedy special that highlights the spark that occurs when performing for the U.S. Marines.

In “Comedy from the Corps”, Richmond steps away from the typical environment comedians often find themselves in and documents his unedited and uncensored performance set in an active aircraft hanger in front of an active Osprey helicopter and three brigades of Marines.

“We want to make laughter and showcase the relationship between these two great entities,” said Richmond.

On base, the men and women of the U.S. Marines welcome the break from their day-to-day regimen to be transported for a moment into a lighter atmosphere full of laughter.

“You guys were amazing. Thank you for entertaining our Marines,” said Sargent Major Richard Rodriguez, USMC.

Along for the ride are fellow comedians Erik Knowles, Heather Marie Zagone, Todd Rexx and Jennifer Murphy, all of whom have been featured on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, Conan O’Brien and more.

“It was our goal to give these patriotic men and women the chance to have a comedy show where they get to appreciate the freedom they fight for,” said Richmond.

“Comedy from the Corps” will soon hit the streets running and offer the world a chance to witness the magic that occurs when a crew of comedians breaks into the daily lives of American’s finest for a chance to let go and laugh.
