(Newswire.net — November 2, 2016) Huntington Beach, California — Tops Cannabis, a leading medical marijuana dispensary offering delivery, discusses the legalization of Marijuana in California and the direction it is currently heading throughout the United States. “2016 is marijuana’s big year”, says an industry enthusiast. With multiple states voting on whether or not to legalize marijuana this year, there is a huge movement and with increasing support from citizens, this could mean that more states will legalize it soon.

As a medical cannabis full service delivery dispensary, Tops Cannabis delivers high quality medical cannabis right to their customer’s home. They deliver in Los Angeles and Orange County and the surrounding cities. The company offers various marijuana dispensaries, as well as a variety of products such as edibles and concentrates.

According to Tops Cannabis, 2015 was a great year for progress in marijuana legalization. Four states as well as the District of Columbia legalized recreational marijuana, with numerous states decriminalizing it and even more states approving medical marijuana. However, 2016 should be an even better year for marijuana, as more states lean towards its legalization. Despite the fact that marijuana remains to be illegal on the federal level, decriminalizing marijuana is still spreading across the country, whether it be in the recreational, medical form or both.

Colorado, which legalized recreational cannabis for adults 21 years and older in 2012, saw its legal marijuana sales grow over 40% to almost $1 billion in 2015, generating over $135 million in revenue from fees and taxes that the state put toward various public projects. The huge revenue, along with marijuana’s health benefits, is making more states consider legalizing marijuana.

So far, 25 states have legalized medical marijuana, while four states—Washington, Alaska, Oregon and of course Colorado—have legalized marijuana for recreational use. After November, a majority of states could have legal marijuana in some form. Three more states—Florida, Missouri and Arkansas—are set to vote on the legalization of medical cannabis in the upcoming election.  Furthermore, at least five states will be voting on legalizing recreational or adult-use cannabis in November, including California, which boasts the nation’s largest legal cannabis market, thanks to a thriving medical cannabis industry that has been around for over 20 years. The states of Nevada, Maine, Arizona and Massachusetts will soon be voting on the legalization of recreational marijuana for individuals 21 years and older, while Montana will be voting to reinstate its medical cannabis laws through I-182.
