(Newswire.net — April 17, 2017) — Oklahoma – While dressed as an evil witch, the woman terrorized her 7-year-old granddaughter by scaring and physically abusing her. The judge sentenced the grandmother to three consecutive life terms in jail.
Grandmother who abused her granddaughter dressed like an evil witch pleaded guilty on all five counts of felony.
According to Assistant District Attorney, Merydith Easter, 51-year-old Geneva Robinson “repeatedly tortured” the girl, hitting, kicking and burning her. The Oklahoman reported the woman was hitting her granddaughter in the face and punished her body with a rolling pin. The woman also admitted she scratched the child’s neck and cut her hair while she was asleep.
Besides beating her granddauther, Robinson repeatedly frightened the child with allegations that monsters and witches live in the attic.
“What she [Robinson] did was horrific, and what she did will forever impact this child and her siblings. She deserves the same amount of mercy that she showed this child, and that’s none,” Easter said.
Robinson was arrested in September 2014 after her malnourished granddaughter was submitted to a hospital, when the doctors noticed the girl was severely abused. Prosecutors discovered that the girl had been hung by her arms from the garage ceiling and whipped. But that is just a small part of the hell the 7-year-old was put through.
The video revealed in court, showed horrifying scenes in what attorney Easter described as the “house of horror.” Reportedly, the video displayed Robinson dressed as a witch ‘Nelda’, dressed in black and wearing a scary mask.
The video showed the scared child with her two siblings, sitting on the sofa with dog barks heard in the background. Joshua Granger, Robinson’s 33-year-old partner, can be heard on the video saying “Grandma’s sick because of you. You go with the witch.”
After the child had promised she will behave, Garner accused the frightened girl of lying. “You lie, you lie, you lie, little girl,” Garner was recorded repeating. For his complicity in crime, Garner was sentenced to 30 years behind bars.
Prosecutors said the girl was deprived of adequate medical care and nutrition and forced to sleep outside with the dogs. She was also denied to go to school.
Robinson’s attorney Tanya Jones said she is mentally ill but she “understands she went too far.” According to Jones, Robinson is taking medications for treating bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
