(Newswire.net — September 5, 2017) Orlando, FL — Green tea has long been believed to have life-saving effects. It contains a variety of therapeutic properties that could potentially fight diseases and disorders, including the life-threatening ones.

Green tea has a high potential in changing estrogen metabolism. According to the recent research study from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, green tea has biochemicals that could alter the estrogen metabolism of women.

This alteration could be a mechanism to decrease breast cancer risk. The study, which was spearheaded by Dr. Barbara Fuhrman, comes from the NIH’s National Cancer Institute.

In the study, there were 181 healthy Japanese American women coming from Hawaii and California. The researchers measured the levels of urinary estrogens and metabolites in women.

The group consisted of 72 postmenopausal women, with the rest being premenopausal. The researchers compiled data according to a combination of personal interviews and the urinary tests of women.

The women participants did not only take green tea, but also soda, coffee, and black tea.

The study results found that the postmenopausal women who consumed green tea on a daily basis experienced a reduction in urinary testosterone by 20 percent.

It was also found that they had less urinary estradiol levels by 40 percent. These results were compared to the findings of women who consumed green tea less than once per week.

It is the 16-hydroxylated estrogens that are the primary estrogen pathway linked with breast cancer. As for the 16-hydroxylated estrogen pathway, there were 40 percent lower estradiol and estrone markers in women who consumed green tea at least once a day.

This was compared to women participants who consumed less than a cup of the beverage a week.

Today, there are quite a number of commercially-produced drinks in the market. They are delicious and easy to purchase, but many of them have low nutritional values. What makes then even more disadvantageous is that their use has been linked with side effects.

Many of these drinks are highly processed, and contain a variety of chemicals and substances that are absolutely not good for the human body. Drinking green tea, on the other hand, could be a wise option since it contains multiple therapeutic properties.

The antioxidants in green tea are linked with a range of health benefits. While green tea is widely consumed as a beverage, it can also be taken through supplementation.

Resveratrol supplements contain green tea extracts. Resveratrol is an antioxidant that can also be found in green tea.

Some of the best resveratrol supplements do not just contain extracts of green tea, but also of grape seed, red wine, and Acai fruit.
