Epic Storm Surge Predicted to Hit the Florida Keys Saturday Night

(Newswire.net — September 8, 2017) — The Eye of Hurricane Irma and the 160+MPH winds, will be passing over the Florida Keys at approximately 7:00 PM Saturday Night.  Simultaneously the 4th largest high tide of the month will be coming in starting at 7:00 PM, and reaching its hightide point of 39 Inches at 11:19 PM.

The combination of the two, promises to bring a storm surge to the Florida Keys, not seen in over a century. 

 

 

 “If ever there was a storm to take seriously in the Keys, this is it,” Monroe County Emergency Management Director Martin Senterfitt told WPLG. “The sooner people leave, the better.”
