Tom Baskind to Participate in 2017 Cycle to the Sea Event

The event, featuring a bicycle ride from Charlotte, North Carolina to Charleston, South Carolina, spans 240 miles over three days. Cycle to the Sea was established by the Carolinas HealthCare Foundation to provide funding and awareness for the Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program at Carolinas HealthCare System. It involves athletes with physical disabilities who use handcycles or tandem bicycles to participate on the ride, which covers approximately 80 miles per day over the three-day event. The event serves as the primary fundraiser for the ASAP initiative, and funds raised through rider pledges go to support a range of low-cost programs for youths and adults with physical challenges. ASAP is dependent on philanthropic efforts like that of Tom Baskind and many other participants, and offers both instruction and unique outdoor activities for individuals of all ages who struggle with physical disabilities.
