(Newswire.net — September 23, 2015) — A Palestinian girl was shot 10 times by Israeli troops and left for 30 minutes on the street, before an ambulance was allowed to approach the site, Russia Today reported.

The incident happened at a Hebron checkpoint held by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). After shooting the girl, IDF blocked access to the site for half an hour until they let the ambulance pass through.

Later that day, 19-year-old Hadil Hashlamoun died on a hospital operating table. According to the report, she died of bullets in her chest, although IDF claimed they wounded the girl by shooting her legs. “Three operations were performed on my daughter,” Salah Hashlamoun, Hadil’s father told local reporters. “A part of her intestines had to be removed. But the bullet in her chest was what killed her.”

Soon after the incident, IDF tried to steer the story by reporting that IDF soldiers was attacked at the checkpoint. “BREAKING: Palestinian attempts to stab soldier at military position in Hebron. Forces responded with fire at the attacker & identified hit,” IDF tweeted.

The real story, however, emerges after the Youth Against Settlements group posted photos taken shortly before and after the shooting, that contradict the IDF’s statement. One of the group’s members claimed that the girl was allegedly shot after she refused to open her bag and lift her wail. According to him, the girl didn’t pull out a knife and did not poses the threat to IDF soldiers.

Photos taken at the scene confirmed that a girl was carrying a black bag. However, it is highly unlikely that she pulled out the knife and attacked one soldier while she was pinned in corner by IDF soldiers aiming rifles to her.

Local Palestinian media also reported that the woman was shot after she refused to open her purse or lift her face veil, the niqab, upon request by IDF troops.

The incident is just one in a series after IDF soldiers were officially allowed to ‘fire at will’ at Palestinians whom they mark as a threat. Even throwing a rock is considered a terrorist attack, according to the Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu.

Before the killing of Hadil Hashlamoun, a video of Israeli sniper shooting Palestinian teenager was shared through social networks.

The video shows a young Palestinian throwing rocks at an unidentified off-screen target. Video shows he was not exactly aiming, just throwing rocks away from the sniper location. Then Israeli soldier fired and hit Palestinian in the leg, after which he limped away. The action was called “Throw a rock, catch a bullet,” and received wide approval of IDF supporters.
