(Newswire.net — January 25, 2016) — The three escapees from the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, California, are suspected of crimes of torture and attempted murder. Southern California authorities have launched a manhunt, reported the local media.

These dangerous prisoners were last seen in the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana in the Orange County on Friday at 5 a.m. and were wearing orange jail jumpsuits at the time.

The sheriff spokesman Jeff Hallock said at a press conference on Saturday that the three men could have escaped any time between 5 a.m. Friday morning and late Friday night.

He added that it was a very well thought out and planned escape. The prisoners cut through the plumbing tunnels, onto the roof and rappelled to the ground using some kind of makeshift rope.

Jeff Hallock said this is the first escape from the Central Men’s jail, which holds 900 inmates, in the last 20 years, then added that perhaps it is the first escape ever, reported the AP.

All three are fugitives are indicted on multiple grounds.

Thirty-seven-year-old Hossein Nayeri has been detained since 2014 and is accused of kidnapping and torturing. Twenty-year old Jonathan Tieu, detained since 2013, has been charged with attempted murder and shooting in a residential building. It is believed that his case is gang-related.

Forty-three-year old Bac Duong, charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting in a residential building and possession of weapons which are banned for him as an ex-con.

The U.S. Marshals Service has offered a $30,000 reward on top of $20,000 offered by the FBI for information leading to the trio’s capture, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens said it was unclear whether the three escapees are armed but that they should be considered very dangerous.

The investigators advise that if someone should notice them that they should call 911 immediately.
