Liberty HealthShare’s approximately 165 dedicated team members regularly field requests from the ministry’s many members seeking expanded healthcare sharing options. Member surveys, which are conducted every six months, consistently revealed one specific need: affordable dental care.

“Every six months, we do a survey of our members asking them about their emerging needs, and one of them was the dental program, which we launched,” explains Chief Executive Officer Dorsey Morrow.

Liberty Dental emerged directly from member feedback, representing how the healthcare sharing ministry adapts its offerings based on community input.

Member-Driven Development Process

Liberty HealthShare’s approach to program development reflects its fundamental philosophy of member-first service. Rather than executives determining what services to offer, the ministry lets member needs guide expansion decisions.

“Our focus at Liberty HealthShare is on our members,” says Morrow. “We are here to help facilitate sharing between our members. We are not driven by profit. It’s frankly our goal to go broke each month. The contributions coming in should be the contributions that go out.”

Member Antonio Monterrosa, who has maintained Liberty HealthShare membership for over a decade, appreciates this responsive approach. After facing $3,600 monthly insurance costs for his family, he found Liberty HealthShare’s member-focused model refreshing.

“Liberty HealthShare representatives respond promptly, and they are incredibly kind and eager to help you right away,” he said. “It feels like dealing with a caring human being rather than someone reading robotically from a script.”

Pricing Structure

Liberty Dental maintains the ministry’s commitment to transparent pricing without hidden fees or surprise costs. Suggested monthly share amounts begin at $35 for individuals $69 for couples, and $129 for families of up to four members, with additional family members added for $20 each.

Annual unshared amounts remain modest: $75 for individuals, $150 for couples, and $200 for families of four or more before eligible expenses become shareable. Members can access these specific details through Liberty HealthShare’s publicly available sharing guidelines.

“Anything and everything you want to know about Liberty HealthShare, you can go to our website,” Morrow emphasizes. “You’ll see we are an open book. You can find our 990. You can find our guidelines. You can find our audit report.”

Members maintain complete freedom to visit any licensed dentist without network restrictions, which is consistent with Liberty HealthShare’s philosophy of member choice.

ShareBox Portal Integration

Members manage their dental sharing program through ShareBox, Liberty HealthShare’s secure online portal that shows exactly how monthly contributions help others in the community. Beyond bill submission, ShareBox allows members to track the impact of their contributions and submit prayer requests.

Prayer support distinguishes Liberty HealthShare from secular healthcare financing models. Staff regularly pray with and for members facing dental and medical challenges, creating spiritual bonds alongside financial sharing.

“We have a list that is distributed internally every Friday of prayer requests from our members,” explains Morrow. “Whether it’s with the member or for the member, we are about prayer. We strongly believe in that here.”

Preventive Care and Community Support

Liberty Dental emphasizes preventive services, reflecting the ministry’s belief that proactive healthcare management reduces long-term expenses while improving member health outcomes. Preventive care receives priority sharing status, encouraging regular check-ups and cleanings that help avoid more serious dental problems.

Liberty HealthShare’s dental program operates within the ministry’s broader community support framework. Beyond individual member benefits, the ministry established initiatives such as the Sharing Hearts Fund for Pediatric Wellness, which assists Stark County, Ohio, families with children’s dental and medical needs.

“Our objective is to make it possible for families who have had to forego these important wellness procedures due to costs to move forward and provide critical checkups for their children,” Morrow posits.

Faith-Based Accountability

Liberty HealthShare’s dental program maintains the same accountability standards that earned the ministry a three-star rating from Charity Navigator and an 88%rating. Financial transparency, combined with biblical principles of stewardship, have created a foundation of operational accountability that is often hard to come by in healthcare financing.

Current members can add the dental sharing program during their 60-day membership change period, while new members can include it at enrollment. Unlike insurance models with limited enrollment periods, Liberty HealthShare welcomes new members year-round.

“You can join our membership, and if you determine it doesn’t work for you, you’re not locked into it,” Morrow notes. “You’re free to move to another program, another ministry, or some other option.”
