(Newswire.net — August 10, 2020) — If you do not wash your face regularly you could begin to have oily or dry skin, and even develop pesky acne. Washing your face should be a habit, just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. But, each person’s skin is different so when you wash it needs to be tailored to your skin type, schedule, and activities. Some of the most common times to cleanse your face with a gel cleanser, foaming cleanser, or lotion cleanser is in the morning, afternoon, in the shower, and after a workout.

Morning

Washing your face in the is a great start to the day. While you are sleeping  your skin will be making oils and creating more dead skin cells. This is why it is a great time to cleanse your skin within an hour or two of waking up. Washing your face in the morning can also be a fantastic way to wake yourself up. A splash of cold and hot water on your face will signal to your body that it is time to get up and start the day. After washing your skin do not forget to apply a light moisturizer and sunscreen to your skin to protect it from the harsh environment.

Afternoon

Throughout the day you may have applied makeup, gone to work or school, and done many activities. All of these things can create and collect dust, dead skin cells, oils, and pollutants from the air. Washing your skin off in the afternoon can remove all of these unwanted substances and create a fresh canvas for rest. Keep in mind that you have dry skin you may want to only wash your face once a day to prevent excessive drying. If you feel that you need to wash your face twice a day it is vital that you apply moisturizer afternoon and morning to keep your skin hydrated.

In The Shower

Washing your skin in the sink can be messy and inconvenient, with all of the splashing water and bent over posture. Taking the time to wash your face in the shower can make the experience much easier and more enjoyable. Think about it, you are already wet and washing the rest of your body ,so washing your face in the shower is only one extra easy step. Also, the steam from the shower allows your pores to relax and open. Having open pores while you wash your face will get the oil and dirt that is deep in your skin out and have an overall cleaner face.

After a Workout

After a long, hard workout the first thing you want to do is rest, not wash your face. But after a workout is the perfect time to do this vital habit. Exercise can cause you to sweat and create extra oils on your skin. These get trapped in your skin and can cause acne if they are not proactively removed from the skin’s surface. If you are only doing a very light workout you could simply wipe your face off with water or shower afterwards, but if it is an intense workout it is highly recommended to wash your face directly after the workout.

Creating a skincare routine and habit does not have to be difficult. Try to enjoy the process and the great benefits of clear, bright, and healthy skin. If you are overwhelmed by the options of cleansers a great go to is a foaming cleanser that will be gentle yet effective for cleaning your skin’s surface.
