(Newswire.net — June 6, 2022) Orlando, FL — Knee osteoarthritis is undeniably quite common today, especially in the United States. This is why more are more experts are investigating the techniques to better manage the condition.
Two long-term studies have revealed the link between a fiber-rich diet and the reduced risk of painful knee osteoarthritis. The findings are in line broadly with the other reported health benefits of having a fiber-rich diet.
These actually include decreases in weight, blood pressure, and systemic inflammation as well as enhanced blood glucose control.
The investigators looked into data from two U.S. studies to determine if dietary fiber might have any bearing on the risks of x-ray evidence of knee osteoarthritis, symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (x-ray evidence and symptoms, such as pain and stiffness), and worsening pain in the knee.
The Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI) was the first of these studies. It has been tracking the health of almost 5000 US men and women with or at risk of, osteoarthritis since 2004-6 (average age 61) for the purpose of identifying potential risk factors for the condition.
The Framingham Offspring cohort study was the second part, and it has been tracking the health of over 12000 adult children of the original Framingham Heart Study and their partners since 1971. The current study, on the other hand, has results that are based on data first taken between 1993-4, when participants were 54, on average, up to 2002-5.
Data on symptoms, x-ray evidence, and potentially influential factors like medication, knee surgery, and lifestyle were collected.
At the end of 4 years, it has been found that 869 knees were symptomatic among the 4051 participants in the OAI with complete data on dietary fiber intake. Further, 152 displayed x-ray evidence of osteoarthritis; and pain had worsened in 1964.
More studies are still being carried out to look into the effects of diet on knee pain caused by arthritis. There have also been researching findings that recommend the use of all-natural ingredients like glucosamine, which is widely used nowadays through supplementation.
In many studies, the use of glucosamine has been found to produce pain relief among osteoarthritis sufferers. Its pain-relieving benefits are thought to be due to its anti-inflammatory benefits and ability to repair cartilage damage in the joints.
There are many who resort to the use of formulas like VitaBreeze Glucosamine in managing arthritis pain. This amazing formula also has other arthritis-fighting ingredients like chondroitin, methylsulfonylmethane, and turmeric.
VitaBreeze Glucosamine could be an excellent choice for individuals who want to achieve OA pain relief (http://amazon.com/Glucosamine-Chondroitin-Turmeric-Dietary-Supplement/dp/B00DUMO9X4).
