With the new announcement, the company aims to make its training program accessible to participants throughout the United States and provide as many people as possible with the life-saving knowledge they will need in an active shooter situation.
Active shooter attacks in crowded and public spaces happen unexpectedly and are often over before law enforcement arrives. Many people do not know how to act in a situation like this and freeze in fear, losing precious time. Knowing what to do in the first minutes of a mass attack can help a person overcome their fear, save themselves, and help others.
Created by Michael Julian, a Private Investigator and Security Professional, the A.L.I.V.E. Active Shooter Survival comprehensive 2 and 3-hour online programs help people develop a situational awareness mindset and equip them with the confidence necessary to survive an active shooter event.
Participants will learn to recognize the warning signs of potential violence and become more aware of their surroundings. The course uses real-life case studies and statistics to help students create a mental reaction plan.
The 20-Minute Lightning Course is the shortest version of the program. It covers the 5 Basic Lifesaving Steps of A.L.I.V.E. and is suitable for those who have already completed the full course and would like to refresh their knowledge.
Michael Julian, CPI, PPS, CSP, launched the A.L.I.V.E. Training Program in 2019 and since then has been teaching it in workplaces, places of worship, and recreational venues throughout the world. He also teaches training courses in Executive and Asset Protection.
“We should be increasingly aware of our surroundings and learning from each incident,” said Michael Julian. “I am approached after each devastating event and asked what could have been done during this scenario to help increase the odds of survival, my active shooter survival training will teach you just that.”
