Aerobic Exercise May Aid in Cognitive Function, a Study Shows

(Newswire.net — January 21, 2022) Orlando, FL — Multiple research studies have previously looked into the impacts of physical activity on health, especially on the brain.

One study was carried out by Henriette van Praag, Ph.D., from Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt College of Medicine and Brain Institute and Ozioma Okonkwo, Ph.D., Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and their collaborators.

This study has, through the use of memory biomarkers, confirmed that aerobic exercise aids in cognitive function in older adults.

There is increasing evidence showing that physical activity and exercise training may prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

It is worth noting that in aging humans, it has been found aerobic exercise training enhances gray and white matter volume as well as blood flow and memory function.

Experts say that by measuring the impacts of exercise on systemic biomarkers associated with risk for AD and relating them to key metabolomic alterations, prevention, monitoring, and treatment efforts may be improved.

The researchers were able to test hypotheses that three biomarkers may increase in older adults after exercise training. These biomarkers are implicated in learning and memory and may correlate with cognition and metabolomics markers of brain health.

The findings have shown that there was an increase in plasma CTSB levels after the 26-week structured aerobic exercise training in older adults at risk for AD.

While there was a correlation between verbal learning and memory with positive changes in CTSB, they were not related to BDNF or klotho.

This correlation between CTSB and verbal learning and memory indicates that CTSB may be useful as a marker for cognitive alterations significant to hippocampal function following exercise in a population at risk for dementia.

It was published in Frontiers in Endocrinology.

More and more researchers are highlighting the relevance of taking steps particularly beneficial for cognitive health. It is worth keeping in mind that proper nutrition is vital for brain health.

Some nutrients like B vitamins are found particularly beneficial for the brain, especially for cognitive function. These nutrients have long been studied due to their strong medicinal benefits.

They are undeniably important as their deficiencies are even linked with the increased odds of certain symptoms.

To benefit from the use of these nutrients, it is wise to consider formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
