(Newswire.net — July 23, 2013) Los Angeles, CA — AMG International’s India division has begun to provide assistance to children in various poor communities throughout the country as extreme record temperatures devastate the region. Daily temperatures have averaged between 111°F and 115°F claiming a large number of fatalities in its wake. Currently the number of deceased stands at 1,157 according to a Mission Network News report from July, 22nd.

AMG international has been providing its services by helping to set up bore wells in desperately affected regions without immediate access to water. The makeshift wells are being handmade via AMG volunteers and members of the community who are able. Water is being delivered in through mission aid supplies provided by the organization.

MNN caught up with a representative of AMGI, Pat Ragan who stated, “For us, it became a priority. Water is a basic need. And so when the heat wave hit, it piqued our attention.”

The plan is to install 10 of these wells in regions that need them most, with plans to install more as funds and resources become available.
