(Newswire.net — March 15, 2022) Orlando, FL — There are many people nowadays who suffer from age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which is a problem with your retina.

Statistics warn that AMD is actually the top cause of vision loss in individuals 50 years and older. This eye health issue occurs when a part of the retina is damaged. It leads to the loss of central vision.

When this happens, the sufferer may be unable to see fine details and this means difficulties when looking at something far or close. It is worth mentioning that it comes in two types, namely the dry AMD and wet AMD.

Around 80 percent or 8 out of 10 individuals with AMD have the dry type. It develops when parts of the macula get thinner with age. It also occurs when there is a growth of drusen, which are tiny clumps of protein.

It is important to stress that this leads to slow loss of central vision and has no known cure yet.

The wet AMD, on the other hand, is the much more serious type but less common. It develops when abnormal, new blood vessels grow under the retina. It is worth noting that these vessels may actually leak blood or other fluids, which can lead to scarring of the macula.

Vision loss happens faster in cases of wet AMD than with dry AMD. There are factors found to increase the odds of AMD, such as being overweight, a diet rich in saturated fat, cigarette smoking, hypertension, and being over 50 years of age.

When it comes to naturally fight AMD, there are all-natural measures like the use of B vitamins. There have been many studies showing that certain B vitamins like riboflavin could work wonders in reducing age-related cataracts significantly.

Its use has further been found to result in less age-related opacity in the eyes. Some researchers carried out studies to look into the impacts of vitamins B6, B9, and B12 on eye health.

Scientists have discovered that the combination of these vitamins could reduce levels of homocysteine, which is a protein in the body that may be linked with inflammation as well as the heightened risk of AMD development.

A clinical study involving female subjects has shown that intake of 1,000 mcg of vitamin B12, along with vitamins B6 and B9, led to a 34 percent decreased risk of developing AMD.

To benefit from the healing goodness of B vitamins, it is wise to consider the use of Purest Vantage Vitamin B Complex.
