(Newswire.net — October 12, 2018) — Solar Xpress, a company specializing in solar installations, announced an updated range of commercial and large corporate solar energy system installation services. One of the company’s recent clients is Maryborough RSL, an iconic community club located in Maryborough, which has benefited from the installation of a large solar energy system to better meet their energy needs and reduce associated costs.

The collaboration with Maryborough RSL came after a fortuitous meeting at the Australasian Hospitality and Gaming Expo led to engaging SolarXpress to investigate the benefits of solar power to the club, community and its members.
“The club had been interested in the benefits and savings of solar energy for some time”, said Maryborough RSL CEO Jason Scanes. “After an initial assessment of our current usage we could see, as future prices for energy remain uncertain, that there were definite benefits to the club in the long term.”
Utilising specially developed software, SolarXpress analysed the club’s consumption data and provided expert advice on the most appropriate solar system to maximise their energy cost savings. The project was then adapted to the specific needs of the club, and the final approval was given to proceed with the project in late November last year.
The results of the initial assessment showed that the club could cut energy costs significantly by harnessing solar energy using a cutting-edge solar system.
Installation of the 100-kilowatt solar system took just over three weeks, but it wasn’t without its challenges. Maryborough RSL has renovated and expanded over the years and the club is now a combination of seven different buildings with distinct roof tops, including gable and clip-lock roofs.
“We couldn’t use some roof tops because there were structural and other issues” said Derek O’Connell, CEO of SolarXpress. “We installed a total of 252 LG solar panels which are considered some of the best on the market.”
With the solar system now generating all the energy needs of the club, they are expected to see consumption savings of over $1 million over the next 20 years.
SolarXpress provides a free power audit to companies, clubs and other commercial and corporate clients, allowing them to analyse their current power usage and calculate potential savings resulting from the successful implementation of a solar system. The company has more than 30 years of experience providing cutting-edge solar solutions adapted to the needs of Australian residential, commercial and industrial clients.
