The new Luchow’s in Palm Springs, California, has named Chef Jacqueline Jimenez to helm the new Chinese restaurant with master chef and influencer David Hsu helping craft the menu. The restaurant has just transformed from take-out a full service, says owner Dan Gore.

Luchows, one of the desert’s few Chinese restaurants, has named Chef Jacqueline Jimenez aboard to helm the new take-out eatery. In addition, owner Dan Gore, who also owns the restaurant/bar/live music venue Oscar’s Palm Springs, has tapped master Chinese chef and influencer David Hsu to help craft the menu. At this point in time, Luchows will only be open for take-out, Thursdays and Fridays 5:30 pm-10:30 pm and 4 pm-10:30 pm on the weekends. Diners may call (760) 656-0045 or visit luchowspalmsprings.com to place their orders.

A lifelong local, Jimenez earned her chops at two of Palm Springs favorite restaurants, 849 and Trio, among others. Just before the pandemic, she opened her own Asian fusion restaurant in Rancho Mirage that was forced to close its doors. She is joined in the kitchen with Hsu, who teaches his vast audience of Internet followers proper Chinese cooking.

In addition to traditional soups and appetizers, Luchows features a range of main courses including Kung Pao Beef, Orange Chicken, Ginger Shrimp Curry, Pork & Shrimp Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Chinese Pork Ribs and Buddha’s Delight, a vegetarian option.

Luchows is the sister restaurant of Oscar’s Palm Springs, a highly popular restaurant/bar/live entertainment venue situated in the center of the desert city. Open for dinner nightly and lunch during the high season, it boasts an eclectic menu and full bar. It has gained a reputation for its Bitchiest Drag Brunch on Sundays and weekend Tea Dances that draw hundreds from the LGBTQIA+ community who enjoy dancing to vintage Disco music. On the more provocative side of Oscar’s entertainment lineup are Mimosa Men Saturday Brunches featuring professional male dancers who shed their clothing as guests enjoy a wide variety of dining options along with the popular Champagne beverage. Oscars’ “An Intimate Evening With…” series, which draws celebrities from yesteryear such as Dionne Warwick, the cast of “Knot’s Landing,” Frankie Avalon and Sandra Bernhard to the desert, offers an alternative to the desert’s myriad entertainment options.

Luchows is located at 4771 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, and can be reached at (760) 656-0045. For more information, please visit luchowspalmsprings.com.
