Montreal-based custom pillow manufacturer Pilloo recently updated its range of pop art-inspired throw pillows.
With the latest additions to the collection, Pilloo’s customers can now enhance the colour and vibrancy of their homes or workspaces by adding Pop Art-themed pillows. The pillows feature designs printed using a unique sublimation method that produces longer-lasting results than other printing techniques.

Pop Art is an art movement that emerged in the United Kingdom and the United States during the mid to late 1950s. Artists in the Pop Art movement sought to challenge the conventions of fine art by incorporating images from pop culture in their work. This usually resulted in bold and bright pieces that emphasized more banal aspects of society. Pilloo’s updated Pop Art pillow range aims to honour the Pop Art tradition by providing customers with pillows inspired by the works of Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and other famous artists.
Included in the latest collection are a variety of pillows in different Pop Art styles. The SMASH! and POW! pillows, for example, are meant to look like comic strip speech bubbles and exclamations, both of which have been frequently included in Pop Art over the decades. Similarly, the Pop Art Mood pillow features a cartoon woman drawn in a uniquely Pop Art fashion.
The pillows are made using wrinkle-free 100% polyester velvet fabric and are filled with high-quality stuffing materials. They are also hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, and machine washable.
The pillows can be purchased in Small 16”, Medium 24”, and Large 36” sizes. Pillow shape, however, will differ with each pillow, as Pilloo cuts the fabric in the outline of each image or graphic being printed. For example, the Pop Art Lipstick pillow is shaped like a tube of lipstick.
“I’m an art student, so looking for different ways of integrating art into my home and workspaces is important to me,” said a satisfied customer. “Pilloo’s range of Pop Art pillows offer unique alternatives to traditional prints, canvases, and posters that you just hang on your wall and admire from afar. With the pillows, you can hold and feel them, and it makes the experience a bit more interactive.”
