Deaf Teens Indie film Spirit of Love makes Premiere in Nashville

Nashville TN- Spirit of Love, the Mike “Stinger” Glenn story will premiere in Nashville to kick off ICM week.

 

NBA legend & Fox Sports Analyst Mike “Stinger” Glenn plays himself in this wonderful film inspired by his real life Basketball camps for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. In a unique casting, deaf & hard of hearing, and hearing teens work together and deliver a message which is authentic, charming, competitive, funny, and challenging.

Spirit of Love is a diverse coming of age story. A group of misfit teens arrive at the 33rd annual basketball camp, which is the first time girls will attend the camp. Some come with hoop dreams, while others are trying to survive tumultuous teenage angst. Not only do they learn life lessons through the game of basketball, they soon learn what it means to soar like Eagles, Win or Lose.

“Spirit of Love “motivates uplifts, inspires, and encourages all audiences.

 

The film is also a TOP 5 nominee for the ICM award for Best Inspirational Film against industry giant Warner Bros. 42.

 

We are always amazed at the audience response to our film. It continues to touch hearts and inspire audience members both deaf and hearing. Recently we experienced a deaf teen who was inspired because she had never seen a film which offered deaf teen role models that she could identify with in a positive manner. Her Mother was moved to tears. Whether you’re deaf or hearing the film will educate, entertain and inspire, said Director Darla Rae.

 

The film has an original score by Alex Grant and an original song of the same name by Nashville’s songbird Laura Dodd.

 

Rae, Glenn, and other cast members will participate in a Q&A with the audience following the premiere screening. Both Rae and Glenn will also present the ICM award Oct 24^,, 2013 for Best Inspirational Song during the award show.

 

The film will screen on Monday Oct.21^st at 1pm as part of Inspirational Country Music week which consists of music showcases ,seminars, and ends with the 19^th ICM award show on Thursday Oct 24^th.

The film is free for all who are attending the ICM week activities and the media. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00 which is being donated to the ICM Non-Profit.
