(Newswire.net — March 17, 2014) Las Vegas, Nevada — The Dudley Media Group has been reporting on various scams that have been plaguing America, along with this recent scam where New York city workers were charged in a disability scam. The reports states, “According to prosecutors, a number of New York City police officers, firefighters and prison guards were charged in a disability scam for faking psychiatric problems to receive federal disability benefits along with some falsely claims of their conditions that arose after September 11, 2001.”
This is shocking since they are employees that the general public holds in high regard, and would turn to for help. The Dudley Media Group scam report quoted the Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr. who said, “Four ringleaders coached the former workers on how to falsely describe symptoms of depression and other mental health problems that allowed them to get payouts as high as $500,000. The ringleaders made tens of thousands in dollars in secret kickbacks.”
This money that was received for false disability claims lowers the amount of money available for people with real issues that can really use this disability money. The Dudley Media Group scam report concludes by stating, “All of the individuals are retired. Among the people arrested were 72 city police officers, 8 firefighters, 5 corrections officers and 1 Nassau County Police Department officer. The investigators said the scam goes back two decades with retired officers and other workers collecting years of benefits for mental health problems so severe that they couldn’t work. One of the defendants who said he couldn’t work actually taught martial arts.”
These type of scams take money from deserving Americans, and the Dudley Media Group has decided to fight back by publishing reports on these type of scams. Any information on scams that are being conducted can be sent to the Dudley Media Group for consideration in their trending topics publications.
