(Newswire.net — January 10, 2023) Orlando, FL — Scientists have been investigating the impacts of food choices in the past years.  It is worth being warned that the intake of unhealthy foods could lead to dire health consequences.

A study was carried out and published in The BMJ.

In this research, it has been found that replacing red meat with high-quality plant foods may be linked with a modest decrease in the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD).

These particularly include nuts, beans, soy, dairy products, and whole grains.

In studies carried out in the past, it has been shown that increased intake of red meat like hot dogs, bacon, salami, sausages, and other processed red meat, is linked with the heightened odds of death as well as other major chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease.

The team of U.S. researchers looked into the relationship between process, total, and unprocessed red meat as well as the risk of CHD. They also estimated the impacts of substituting other protein sources for red meat that have CHD risk.

The findings were actually based on data from 43,272 US men (average age 53) from the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study. They were free from cardiovascular disease and cancer when they enrolled.

Subjects filled in a detailed diet questionnaire in 1986 and thereafter every four years up to 2016, they provided medical history and lifestyle information. It is worth noting that medical records were also used in tracking CHD events over the 30-year period.

Over the years, researchers have been stressing the relevance of taking some measures helpful in protecting overall heart health. It is important to note that there are many measures found particularly beneficial for the cardiovascular system.

Experts strongly recommend engaging in exercise regularly and managing stress levels. Some studies even suggest ensuring adequate sleep is vital for heart health.

There are also nutrients like B vitamins researchers found to be particularly beneficial. These vitamins have long been studied due to their strong medicinal benefits. Experts even warn against their reduced levels in the body as it could lead to undesirable health outcomes.

In some research studies, it has been found that intake of certain B vitamins produced benefits to heart health. Intake of these nutrients could be an excellent addition to one’s cardiovascular health diet.
