Experts Now Investigate Into the Cancer-Causing Chemicals in a Popular Diabetes Drug

According to Marilyn Tan, MD, NDMA in high amounts and with long-term exposure is thought to be carcinogenic, and some animal studies have shown possible liver toxicity, but with high dose exposure and over longer periods of time.

More studies are still being carried out to explore the effects of this medication. However, experts strongly recommend not stopping intake of the drug without the approval of a physician.
