(Newswire.net — August 30, 2022) Orlando, FL — In multiple research studies, scientists have found that people get heart health issues due to genetic predisposition. However, a new study has shown that external factors prove to be stronger in influencing heart health.
The findings of this research were presented at a meeting of the European Society of Cardiology.
The investigators have found that an unhealthy lifestyle increases the odds of heart disease significantly more than one’s genetic make-up.
Further, the results of this research have demonstrated factors like diabetes, hypertension, physical inactivity, smoking, and high cholesterol were strong players in the increased likelihood.
The researchers recommend making healthy lifestyle habits a top priority in the prevention of heart disease. This is also applicable among individuals with a family history of the condition.
They recruited 1,075 subjects who had an average age of 45 years. It is also worth mentioning that 555 of them had premature coronary artery disease (CAD), including certain conditions like stable angina, unstable angina and heart attack.
The study author, Joao Sousa of Funchal Hospital, Portugal, says that while genetics is an essential contributor to premature heart disease, it should not be used as an excuse to assume its development is inevitable.
While the study findings show that genetics contribute to CAD, genetics play a less decisive role in its development in those with two or more modifiable cardiovascular risk factors. This essentially means that exercising regularly, quitting smoking, and having a healthy diet are vital.
It is similarly important to get blood pressure and cholesterol levels in check.
This is just one of the research studies that look into certain aspects of heart health. Scientists increasingly study into the preventive remedies for the protection of the heart due to the high prevalence of cardiovascular ailments.
In the United States, roughly 610,000 people die due to heart disease annually and this means the condition accounts for 1 in every 4 deaths. Experts even warn that it is the top cause of death for both men and women.
It has further been found that annually, around 735,000 people in the U.S. have a heart attack.
Due to the staggering statistics of cardiovascular health issues, experts strongly recommend the use of certain healing agents. It doesn’t come as a surprise that today, there are quite a number of remedies like rhodiola being studied by researchers.
Rhodiola rosea is a medicinal herb that in various studies has demonstrated its ability to produce cardiovascular health benefits. It could be an excellent addition to the diet of individuals who want to improve their overall heart health protection.
A formula called Divine Bounty Rhodiola Rosea may be an excellent choice for consumers who want to benefit from the herb’s heart health effects (amazon.com/Rhodiola-Rosea-Supplement-Siberian-Salidroside/dp/B07416DYPB).
