(Newswire.net — May 9, 2013) San Diego, CA — Many products in the local grocery stores can now be found in a gluten free form, products that were previously gluten filled, such as pastas and even the typically healthy whole wheat foods. Natalie Jill explains that “Recently gluten filled products have been found to create sluggish moods, plus actually contribute to fat growth. This is why it can be difficult to build muscle and lose weight with a lot of the nutritional programs and diets that are out on the market today. However, it all really begins at the grocery store.”

While grocery shopping can be overwhelming in itself with all the choices that are available, and the word “gluten free diet” adding additional complication to shopping. Natalie Jill gives very simple tips on how to shop for food while sticking to a healthy nutritional program. Gluten free basically means unprocessed foods like fresh and dry beans, fresh lean meats, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Natalie Jill says to “shop the stores parameters for healthy shopping and to find ingredients for quick, healthy recipes.” This means to walk around the outside aisles that typically consist of proteins, fruits, veggies, and some whole grains. Next she recommends that you read the ingredients, and if you don’t know what something means then generally it is not natural.

A great tip from Natalie Jill is her recommendation to buy in bulk, because she says it can be extremely helpful to those who have a tight schedule. There is also usually a great cost savings in your grocery bill by purchasing in bulk and repackaging foods for storage.  You can also prepare the bulk food and freeze it for quick, convenient healthy meals.

Fitness and health expert Natalie Jill
goes on to provide a few options to use at any local grocer, “If you are going for protein, some options are eggs or egg whites, frozen shrimp, frozen or fresh fish, tofu, boneless chicken breast, and even protein powder. When shopping for veggies and fruit, try fresh or frozen vegetables, fresh or frozen berries, and fresh salad mixes which are all good choices.”
