The state of Florida is known for its sunny weather, miles of coastline and intense love of golfing. Every zone of the state has its own set of expansive and perfectly designed golf courses. These courses are distinctive and designed by golf course architects of worldwide renowned.
For the past 13 years, the state of Florida has hosted the Open Tournament for players with a disability and/or mobility challenges. The tournament will be held at the Long Marsh Golf Club in Rotonda, West Florida, and will begin at 1:00 p.m. The Long Marsh Golf Club is a 27 hole course. These are spread across 3 nine-hole courses, set in 750 acres of protected woodlands and wetlands.
The three courses comprise of Long Meadow, White Marsh, and Pine Valley. The $50 entry fee gives every player 18 holes of golf, the cart fee, balls, and entry to the awards banquet. Being an open tournament, players without disabilities are also encouraged to participate. The players compete for the Low Gross Award and anyone with a USGA Handicap is eligible to play for the Low Net Award.
