(Newswire.net — September 10, 2013) Denver, CO The Rocky Mountain Chapter of myTeamTriumph, a non profit organization providing athletic ride along programs for disabled children, teens, adults and veterans has announced they will be participating in the Pumpkin Pie 5k and 10k race.

Produced by Colorado Runner Events, the Pumpkin Pie 5k and 10k race is being held at Denver’s City Park on November 16, 2013. The flat scenic course is the perfect location for runners and walkers alike to come together and have a fun, fit morning in the brisk November air. Those who finish the race will be greeted with a delicious slice of sweet pumpkin pie.

MyTeamTriumph is a nonprofit charity organization based in Fort Collins. They provide fun and exciting ride along programs for individuals of all ages with disabilities that would otherwise prevent them from being able to experience road races or triathlons. MyTeamTriumph provides everything racers would need to participate, including boats, harnesses, trailers, and chairs. It is their mission through their contributions to ensure that everyone, regardless of physical ability, get to enjoy the thrills and the excitement that comes from finishing a race.

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of myTeamTriumph is dedicated to “enhancing the health and well being of individuals with disabilities by fostering lasting, authentic relationships through the teamwork environment of endurance athletics.” Susan Golicic, president of myTeamTriumph says the race experience for these athletes is nothing short of amazing. “You’ll never see a bigger smile on a child’s face,” she says, “hearing the cheers of onlookers and feeling the incredible sense of achievement.”

Teams supported by front range nonprofit myTeamTriumph are led by “Captains,” who are assisted by volunteer racers called “Angels” whose mission is to get the captains across the finish line. MyTeamTriumph relies on donations from generous supporters in order to continue providing this incredible experience to disabled racers.
