The California Regional Inventor Conference being held on August 12-13 at the Pasadena City College has announced that Amy Wenslow of the firm Product to Profits will be the keynote speaker at Pasadena City College. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) & The National Inventors Hall of Fame are co-presenting the two day educational event. Congressman Adam Schiff, Amy Wenslow, international product expert and CEO of Products To Profits, and Teresa Stanek Rea, Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the USPTO are featured speakers on new intellectual property law changes and creating product based businesses.
This two day educational event promises to support new and seasoned inventors with the most current information about the new America Invents Act, regulatory changes, and best business practices being discussed.
In 2005 the USPTO valued intellectual property in the United States at $5 trillion dollars, almost twice the annual federal budget for the same year. Independent inventors account for approximately 15% of all protected intellectual property. With 64% of net new jobs in our economy over the past 15 years being created by small businesses, supporting this section of inventors is a strong focus of the new law changes.
“I’m thrilled to have been invited by the USPTO to support people who want to create great products. In my 21 years of creating multi-million dollar products, I’ve seen the best results and the worst that can happen when people don’t understand that there is a reliable, repeatable process to creating products. We speak with people every day that made mistakes that have cost them so much time, money and energy. It just doesn’t need to be that way. There is a proven system for creating million dollar products. We’ve been doing it for years,” says Amy Wenslow, CEO of Products to Profits based in Pasadena, CA.
Attendees of the California Regional Inventors Conference will gain critical understanding to create successful products and grow their businesses with intellectual property protection.
Senior USPTO officials, successful inventors, including National Inventor Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Gary Michelson, and intellectual property experts will be on hand to provide practical advice and information for novice and seasoned inventors. Morning plenary speakers for Friday and Saturday include Amy Wenslow, international retail product expert and CEO of Products to Profits, Mark Hatch, CEO of TechShop and Louis Foreman, Chief Executive of Enventys® and producer of Everyday Edisons, Tina Pompey, VP of Intellectual Property, Fox Group Legal and Tami Galt, successful inventor of the Folding Wagon.
A pre-conference workshop on August 11 from 5-7 pm is included in the registration fee. It will cover the basics of the patent process. If you cannot attend, the session on basics will be repeated as a breakout session on August 12 and 13.
The registration fee is $120 per person. The fee for seniors and students is $115. The registration fee includes all sessions and presentations, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, lunch both days and a networking reception on August 12.
