(Newswire.net — February 16, 2021) Orlando, FL — Health authorities have long been warning against the various risk factors of heart disease. In a recent study, the investigators found a new risk factor that can help doctors identify overweight individuals at high risk of this condition.
The findings of this study were published in the BMC Cardiovascular Disorders.
It is worth realizing that in this study, the researchers, found subjects with heart disease more susceptible to producing smaller versions of apolipoprotein, which is a protein component of low-density lipoprotein.
It included 715 outpatients who were divided into two groups. One was whether or not they suffered from heart disease and the other whether or not they were clinically overweight.
The researchers concluded that individuals who were overweight with heart disease were more susceptible to producing a version of apolipoprotein with a low molecular weight compared to overweight people with no history of heart disease.
“The presence of at least one low molecular weight version of apolipoprotein is a reliable way of discriminating between overweight subjects with a high risk of heart disease and those without,” the researchers write.
It is also important to note that people with normal weight and heart disease were more susceptible to producing low-molecular weight versions of apolipoprotein than normal weight people with no heart disease.
As the rates of heart disease continue to soar, it is important to realize that some measures can be taken to ward it off. Some studies have shown that nutrients like B vitamins could work wonders in helping protect the heart.
Nutrients like folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 have been found to successfully reduce levels of homocysteine. It is worth realizing that excessive amounts this naturally occurring amino acid called homocysteine can increase heart disease risk.
It tends to build up in the blood and is thought to be the root cause of arterial inflammation and damage.
There are other mechanisms B vitamins produce that have been found beneficial for heart health. Increasing intake of the above-mentioned B vitamins has been found useful in enhancing vascular endothelial function and related flow-mediated vasodilation.
In a Polish study involving an eight-week treatment of vitamin B6, folic acid, and B12, it has been found that homocysteine levels have been cut in half.
What makes the treatment even more beneficial is that it also diminishes the production of a blood-clotting enzyme, thrombin. It is important to note that this enzyme plays a proliferative role in heart disease and stroke.
These nutrients may actually be obtained through the use of formulas like Purest Vantage B Vitamin Complex.
It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (http://amazon.com/Vitamin-B-Complex-90-Capsules/dp/B0773N3MFK ).
